Ἡ κοινωνία προβάλλει τὴν ἡδονή —εἴτε μέσα ἀπὸ ἐξαρτήσεις, εἴτε μέσα ἀπὸ σαρκικὲς παγίδες, εἴτε μέσα ἀπὸ τὴν ἀποθέωση τοῦ ἐφήμερου— ὡς τὴν μοναδικὴ ὁδὸν εὐτυχίας.
Ὅμως αὐτὴ ἡ «ἐλευθερία» καταλήγει νὰ γίνεται ἡ πιὸ σκληρὴ φυλακή:
ἀδειάζει τὴν ψυχή, θολώνει τὸν νοῦ καὶ ἀφήνει τὸν ἄνθρωπο διψασμένο γιὰ ἀληθινὸ νόημα.
Καὶ τότε, μέσα σὲ αὐτὴ τὴν ἐσωτερικὴ ξηρασία, ἐμφανίζεται ὁ πόνος.
Ὄχι ὡς τιμωρία, ἀλλὰ ὡς φωνὴ Θεοῦ.
Ὡς τὸ νυστέρι τῆς θεϊκῆς ἀγάπης ποὺ ἔρχεται νὰ κόψει τὰ δεσμὰ τῆς ἁμαρτίας καὶ νὰ ἐλευθερώσει τὴν καρδιά.
Ἡ μακαριστὴ Γερόντισσα Γαλακτία, μὲ τὸν φωτισμένο λόγο της, μᾶς ἀποκαλύπτει ὅτι ὁ πόνος δὲν εἶναι ἐχθρός.
Εἶναι τὸ πνευματικὸ χειρουργεῖο ποὺ ἀνοίγει δρόμο γιὰ τὴν ἀληθινὴ θεραπεία.
Οἱ Τρεῖς Λόγοι τῆς Θείας Παιδαγωγίας
1. Τὸ Κλάδεμα τῆς Ἀφθαρσίας
Ὅπως ὁ ἀμπελουργὸς πληγώνει τὸ ἀμπέλι γιὰ νὰ τὸ κάνει νὰ καρποφορήσει, ἔτσι καὶ ὁ Θεὸς ἐπιτρέπει τὸν πόνο γιὰ νὰ μετατρέψει τὸ «καλὸ» σὲ «ἄριστο».
Τὸ κλῆμα δακρύζει ὅταν κλαδεύεται.
Ἀλλὰ αὐτὰ τὰ δάκρυα εἶναι ἡ ἀρχὴ τῆς καρποφορίας.
Ἔτσι καὶ ὁ νέος ἄνθρωπος:
ὁ πόνος γίνεται ἡ τομὴ ποὺ ἀπομακρύνει:
τοξικὲς συνήθειες,
δεσμεύσεις ποὺ τὸν φυλακίζουν,
πάθη ποὺ τὸν κρατοῦν χαμηλά.
Ὁ πόνος ἀνοίγει χῶρο γιὰ νέους, δυνατούς, πνευματικοὺς βλαστούς.
2. Ἡ Ὁλοκλήρωση τῆς Κάθαρσης μέσα ἀπὸ τὴν Ἐξομολόγηση
Ἡ Ἐξομολόγηση εἶναι τὸ λουτρὸ τῆς ψυχῆς.
Ἐκεῖ κλείνουν οἱ μεγάλες πληγές.
Ὅμως συχνὰ μένουν πίσω μικρά, λεπτὰ ἴχνη φιλαυτίας:
μικρὲς ἐγωιστικὲς σκέψεις,
μικρὲς προσκολλήσεις,
μικρὲς ἀδυναμίες ποὺ δὲν προσέξαμε.
Τότε ἡ Θεία Πρόνοια ἐπιτρέπει ἕναν πιὸ δυνατὸ πόνο, ὄχι γιὰ νὰ μᾶς συντρίψει, ἀλλὰ γιὰ νὰ καθαρίσει καὶ τὰ τελευταῖα κατάλοιπα τῆς ἁμαρτίας.
Ὁ πόνος γίνεται συμπλήρωμα τοῦ Μυστηρίου,
τελειοποιεῖ τὴν ἴαση,
καὶ προετοιμάζει τὴν ψυχὴ γιὰ καθαρότητα ποὺ δὲν φανταζόταν.
3. Τὸ Ἀντίδοτο τῆς Ἡδονῆς
Ὑπάρχει ἕνας πνευματικὸς νόμος:
Ἡ ἡδονὴ γεννᾷ ὀδύνη.
Ὅπως ἡ σκουριὰ γεννιέται ἀπὸ τὸ σίδερο καὶ μετὰ τὸ τρώει,
ὅπως τὸ σαράκι βγαίνει ἀπὸ τὸ ξύλο καὶ τὸ καταστρέφει,
ἔτσι καὶ οἱ ἁμαρτίες μας γεννοῦν τὸν πόνο.
Ἡ ἡδονὴ ὑπόσχεται χαρά,
ἀλλὰ φέρνει:
θλίψη,
ἄγχος,
ἐνοχή,
ἐσωτερικὸ σκοτάδι.
Καὶ τότε ὁ Θεός, μὲ ἄπειρη σοφία, χρησιμοποιεῖ τὴν ὀδύνη ὡς ἀντίδοτο.
Ὁ πόνος σβήνει τὴν ἡδονὴ ποὺ μᾶς δηλητηρίασε.
Καταστρέφει τὸ μικρόβιο τῆς ἁμαρτίας.
Ἀρκεῖ ἐμεῖς νὰ ἀνταποκριθοῦμε με:
πίστη,
μετάνοια,
ὑπομονή.
Τὸ Μυστήριο τοῦ Θεραπευτικοῦ Πόνου στὴ Ζωὴ τῶν Νέων
Οἱ νέοι σήμερα φοβοῦνται τὸν πόνο.
Τὸν θεωροῦν ἀποτυχία, τιμωρία, ἀδικία.
Ἀλλὰ οἱ σύγχρονοι Ἅγιοι — Παΐσιος, Πορφύριος, Ἰάκωβος, Γαλακτία —
μᾶς λένε κάτι συγκλονιστικό:
Ὁ πόνος εἶναι ἡ ὁδὸς τῆς ἐλευθερίας.
Μέσα ἀπὸ τὸν πόνο:
σπᾶνε οἱ ψεύτικες ἐξαρτήσεις,
θεραπεύονται οἱ πληγὲς τῶν σχέσεων,
καθαρίζεται ἡ καρδιὰ ἀπὸ παλιὲς δεσμεύσεις,
δυναμώνει ἡ θέληση,
φωτίζεται ὁ νοῦς,
ὡριμάζει ἡ ἀγάπη.
Ὁ πόνος γίνεται ἡ γέφυρα ποὺ περνᾶ τὸν νέο ἀπὸ τὴν ψευδαίσθηση στὴν ἀλήθεια.
Ἐπίλογος: Ὁ Πόνος ὡς Θύρα Ἐλευθερίας
Ἡ Θεία παρέμβαση δὲν παραβιάζει τὴν ἐλευθερία μας.
Τὴν τιμᾶ.
Τὴν θεραπεύει.
Ὁ Θεὸς περιμένει τὴ δική μας συγκατάθεση
— τὴν ὑπομονή, τὴν πίστη, τὴν ταπείνωση
— γιὰ νὰ μεταμορφώσει τὸ μαρτύριο σὲ μαρτυρία.
Ὅταν ὁ πόνος βιώνεται ἐν Χριστῷ,
παύει νὰ εἶναι ἀδιέξοδο
καὶ γίνεται θύρα ἐλευθερίας.
Εἶναι ἡ στιγμὴ ποὺ τὸ Ἅγιον Πνεῦμα νικᾶ τὴ φθορὰ τῶν παθῶν
καὶ ὁδηγεῖ τὸν νέο ἄνθρωπο
ἀπὸ τὸ σκοτάδι τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας
στὸ φῶς τῆς Χάριτος.
